Organic products are working with nature, not against it. It allows for higher levels of animal welfare, lower levels of pesticides, no manufactured herbicides or artificial fertilisers and more environmentally sustainable management of the land and natural environment - this means more wildlife too! An incredible bonus!
So is going Organic hard to do? We believe that it’s easier than you’d think! What ever you are buying, whether it be food, health, beauty or textile products you can choose products that have been produced to the highest possible animal welfare and environmental standards by simply looking out for the Soil Association organic symbol!

As the saying goes, we are what we eat, and this is also true about what we put on our skin. Many of today’s toiletries and cosmetics contain harsh chemicals which are harmful to our skin. Up to 60% of any substance applied to your skin can be absorbed, meaning that the average woman can absorb up to 2kg of chemicals through their skin each year by using simple everyday toiletries. Is it a coincidence that chronic conditions such as asthma, eczema, thyroid problems, allergies and even cancer are on the rise? We believe that a healthier and safer option is to use natural organic products.
However unlike food, there is currently no legal standard in place for organic beauty meaning products can be labelled as 'natural' or 'organic’ and actually contain little to no organic ingredients.
Having the Soil Association Certification is the only way you can be sure of the quality and integrity of the growing number of Organic Beauty and Organic Skincare products available in shops and online. Having the Organic certification is not easy and takes real commitment and attention to detail, and is backed up by rigorous, independent inspection and certification.
Did you know that in the past 60 years, our bees and other pollinators have lost much of their natural habitat, including 98% of wildflower meadows! In the UK alone, 75% of the butterfly species have declined in the past decade and eight of our 25 bumblebee species are threatened, with two already extinct!
Here at Lulu & Boo we are thinking positive, by being an organic certified company we know that our ingredients are absent from manufactured herbicides and the organic farms are havens for wildlife and provide homes for bees, birds and butterflies.
