What we eat directly impacts the appearance of our skin, determines how we age and is just as important in the quest for beautiful skin as having a great skin care regime. Freshly made raw juices or smoothies can have a significant effect on your skins appearance and can contribute to glowing, healthy skin.
Juicing is the process of extracting juice from plant tissues such as fruit or vegetables. It removes the fiber from the plant making it much easier for the body to digest as your system doesn’t have to work as hard to break it down. The nutrients from the plant can then be absorbed directly into the bloodstream. For this reason, juicing can be particularly effective if you have digestive problems or a sensitive digestive system.
This is the perfect way to consume a greater quantity of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as making the nutriments more readily available to the body than if you were to eat the fruits and vegetables whole.
Juicing enables the body to focus on detoxifying and flushing the system of waste, as it doesn’t have to use any energy to digest and break down the fiber.
Blending fruit and vegetables to create a smoothie is a great way of preventing fruit and veg from going to waste and introducing more raw foods into your diet while providing your skin the vitamins, minerals and hydration it needs. Smoothies are fab for a quick, on the go meal and will keep you fuller for longer than a juice.
Smoothies contain all the fiber from the plant that has been blended although they do break it down slightly. Smoothies will also help to cleanse the colon, provide a slower releasing source of energy and leave you feeling healthy and energized.
